Teaching at Concordia

Concordia International School Shanghai seeks teachers with powerful and engaging classroom skills, evidence of continuous professional development, and a love of children and young people.

Purpose
To pursue excellence for all in a spiritual learning community.

Mission
At Concordia, we view every student as a gift from God, entrusted to us by parents, and are committed in Christian stewardship to educate students holistically in a nurturing environment that includes comprehensive and challenging opportunities in academics, creative arts, spirituality, athletics and extracurricular activities.

Vision
Concordia International School Shanghai will be recognized as one of the preeminent schools in Asia.

The School
Concordia International School Shanghai was started in 1998 to enrich the lives of students by challenging them to reach their highest potential in all aspects of life. In just over ten years the school has been blessed and now includes purpose-built facilities on a campus that houses 1,100 students and 169 faculty and staff.

Fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Concordia provides the Shanghai expatriate community with a holistic, American-based, college-preparatory education for students from Preschool through Grade 12. Technology is fully integrated throughout the learning process with students in Grade 7 through Grade 12 participating in a one-to-one Apple laptop program.

One of Concordia's greatest strengths is our community informed by the school's Christian character. As well, the majority of this community - 60 percent of our students and all overseas-hired staff - live within 1 kilometer of campus.

There are terrific things to work with as a teacher at Concordia: energetic young people who take pleasure in learning; high expectations for academic performance; support for professional development; an emphasis on community informed by the school's Christian character; and a schoolwide commitment to technology.

Head of School
